Stockholm

I don´t know what to write, what to say. It was just a real horrible day yesterday - in Stockholm. A day you don´t think would come to Stockholm and at the same time why not here when everywhere. I just hope that we try try real hard to fill the world with kindness and lovelyness.

I took those pictures at 6.00 in the morning of 30.3.2017 when I came back to Stockholm, my hometown of 39 yrs.

Long time

Sorry, it´s long time I have written here, but I have been a busy lady. My Parents were here in the last week. They could stay only for 3 days, because they are very busy for the preparation of Mom´s 80 yrs birthday on 19.3. I´m so happy that in the age of 60 I still have both my Parents in life and well.
But I`ve to admire that every time I say good bye (and specially those time I dont know when we are going to meet again) I feel a little bite of sadness,

As you can see in the picture about the weather was terrible, icy roads everywhere. The snowfall started the same day they started they trip. They have to drive two hours drive to Ferry in Finland, from Pori to Turku and half way there has been a car accident so they road was closet for one hour.
They came to the Port 3 minutes before the check in was closed.

I have also been busy with knitting babyclothes to Bulgaria and send away a package of 3,5 kg. That also means that my yarnstack is smaller now.

I have been home two days because I got flu from my Mom, who had got her from her great grandkids. I told her that when she meets them in wintertime no kissing and hugging.

I don´t have a blog-mojo. I really would love to write at least something once a week, but. Maybe I try to set up some photos and try in that way to come in the blogging would again.
Here is some knitting I have done lately:

First two more pair of socks for veteran of WWII, and at the same time the last one, because that fantastic Facebook group have knitted over 18 000 pair of this socks. I´m proud of being a part of this group and more than proud of all the men who fought for a free and independent Finland.

And then again my favorite knitting projects, baby clothes

This and some others I have knitted earlier are going to Rumania. A swedish midwife, who worked in Rumania and saw some parents didn´t have any clothes for their newborn, so they took news papers to wrap them in and she started to collect clothes and other things with a Facebook group too. I love when you use Facebook for good things happen.

I got some very fine yard ac Christmas present from my Mom and Dad and has started to knit a shal, I have to start five (5!) time before I understood that pattern. Now I love to knit it.

And I´m almost done with my bedspread, only some more grey squares to crochet.

And I will finish with a lovely sunny picture from Sunday. Still sunny today.

Random winter pictures

We got the first snow early in November, it was a horrible 24 hours with nearly 1 meter snow(wet, heavy snow) in very few hours. Total stop in traffic for 12 hours. Stockholm really wasn´t prepared for anything like this.

It took only one week and all the snow was gone.

But we have got snow and just now it´s about 20 cm snow, which make everything much lighter. Unfortunately it has been some warm Days and now all roads are iceroads.

The cold weather has arrived

It has started to snow, Mizu was out for 1 sec., Gullis a little longer.

Otherwise nothing to tell, just hope there will not be so much snow, but my old bones are aching.

Cats

I don´t know how others succeed to take photos of their Cats, but it´s almost inpossible with my two. They real have when they seen the Camera in my hand. But here are few I've taken:

Gullis is the daughter of Mizu, she will be 12 yrs in April:

they don't eat together, this is where Gullis eats

while Mizu eats on the table

and sits on the window sill, looking out,
but most of the time she just is outside even over nights

Gullis on the other hand will just visit outside and sleeps besides me on in the sofa
or alone in the armchair

New Year

One Year passes so soon. Can anybody find the brakes, please.
I celebrated Christmas in Finland with my parents, I`m really so greatful I still in the age of 60 have both my parents to celebrate with. I also met my sister with hubby and my Nephew with wife. The only one I couldn´t meet this time was my little brother, he lives in Helsinki with his family and it´s over 400 km between Helsinki and Pori, where my parents live, about 4 hours by buss.
Dad, soon 83 yrs

Mom, will be 80 this Year

As usual I bought very much yarn, too too much, in fact I have so much yarn at home so I don´t need buy any this Year and maybe not even next Year. My Dad thinks I`m cracy when I fill my luggages with yarn, but for some reason it´s much easier find yarn in Finland than here in Stockholm.
I also left 6 pair wool socks for the Facebook project *wool socks for veterans, Finland 100 year*,
I will continue knit until all 18000-20000 socks are knitted, I think we are some hundred who are knitting, in the last counting there were 11 000 knitted socks ready for delivery. The pattern is only for this project.

It's only 5 pm and very dark outside so better stop here and get Cats in, Mizu the mother cat was out whole last night, I don´t want any repeat.

Take care   Jaana
